Cochabamba,
Bolivia
Commitment:2 to 6 months depending on projects and interests.
Type Of Work:There are many ways you can contribute to the Performing Life youth and women's well being in Cochabamba. No matter, where you are, what abilities you have, if you have a lot of time or not. Check out the following possibilities.
Most of our participants earn money to support themselves and their families by making bracelets. They are handmade and of high quality. 100 percent of the proceeds go to the youth and women, to create better futures for themselves.
Sell bracelets in your country
You as private person or organization can be of great help selling bracelets in your city, wherever you live and work. There is a volunteer non-profit program as well as a for profit program, you will find an option designed to fit your needs.
Become a PL volunteer in Bolivia
As it is not possible to pay employees for all the work that has to be done, we are always in search of new volunteers. Performing Life is a young and growing organization, which gives volunteers the opportunity to bring their own ideas to the table, developing new projects and making a real impact with youth and families.
Preferably, volunteers should make a minimum commitment with PL for 3 months, speak basic Spanish and be willing to work at least half-time with Performing Life.
Exceptions can be made for volunteers with specific valuable skills.
Currently we need volunteers to,
Take over and manage the Women's Weaving Project.
Improve and maintain the web page
Teach performing arts, circus arts, theater, music, dance, etc.
Work on microfinance and business plans with youth and families.
Collaborate on our Film and Music Projects, working on making short films, producing musical albums with youth, etc.
There's lots of work, just ask.
Are you interested? Please write us an Email, shortly introducing yourself, telling us about the tasks you are interested in and about the abilities you bring for carrying out these tasks, as well as the languages you speak. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
For more information and to help you get a better idea of what a volunteer could do and accomplish with Performing Life, please visit our website.
Required Skills:Basic Spanish and intermediate English (depending on projects and interests).
Costs:Performing Life offer their volunteers one meal per day at lunchtime or the cash equivalent to buy their own meal. Volunteers are responsible for covering the vost of accommodation and other meals. Performing Life assists volunteers in finding accommodation which ranges from US$75 to US$150 per month. When I visited Bolivia, I did not have a acnhce to visit that prison but I had a long chat with a former inmate of a Bolivian prison. That sounds like such an amazing project and a genuine way to help
