Full description:NADENA is a recycled design project for women based within the charity Cenit which has been working for 20 years in El Camal, Quito Ecuador. CENIT is a non-profit organization devoted to helping working girls.and their families overcome grinding poverty and improve their quality of lives through recreation, medical, social, and psychological services, nutrition programs, education, and vocation
Additional info:NADENA is the production branch of Cenit. We work to give both practical skills and empowerment training to mothers in a poor barrio of Quito. We have a recycled jewellery workshop, bag making workshop and a recycled card workshop which we are currently modernising with new machinery to increase production and modernize designs. Your working time will be flexible. Some time will be spent directly in the workshop with the women's groups. You may be visiting potential clients, having meetings or doing design work at home. For designers/artists you will need to maintain design quality of existing products whilst hopefully also introducing new designs. We are looking for self-motivated people who can think creatively, problem solve, work in a different culture and bring ideas to the project. These are challenging roles but give you a chance to get real experience in a fair trade environment and make a direct difference. Min age 22.
