Set amidst just over one acre of lush green vegetation, Viswadarsanam was founded on 5th June 1987, World Environment Day. This is a perfect opportunity to live with a local family and immerse your self in the true keralan way of life. There is plenty of opportunity to enjoy traditional culture, ayurvedic medicines and massage treatments. Trips around Kerala can also be arranged. You will also gain valuable experience working in a community based NGO.

Environmentally conscious people who are passionate about conserving the future of our planet. Interested in education as a way to change the minds of the future and in simple living to support the mantra of Viswadarsanam;

We are currently looking for a manager for the centre. For this position we are would ideally like one years commitment. The person must have experience working in an NGO, fundraising and environmental issues, a good knowledge of India, (and perhaps being able to speak a south Indian language if possible). Good spoken and written English is essential. As manager of Viswadarsanam they would have total responsibility for all the activities at the centre. This includes the following:
· Account and funding management
· Organisation of education programmes
· Organisation of various other camps and programmes
· Supervision and recruiting of other staff and their duties
(this will include managing international volunteers)
· Grant applications and report writing
· Publicity & Marketing
(including newsletters and keeping donors updated as well as contacting media and increasing awareness of the centre)
The candidate must also posses initiative and be able to work in an environment where guidance on tasks can not always be given from the Director.
This position would offer not only a great opportunity to work within the local communities and the state at conserving the environment but also it would provide invaluable experience for future jobs. At the moment we cannot offer a fixed salary. We will provide free accommodation and food but part of the job will include finding funding for their position.
