Project Name:New Hope Children's Centre – Uplands

City/Town:Githuya Area, Uplands (about 42Km from Nairobi) along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway – near the View-Point of the Escarpment overlooking the Great Rift Valley
Commitment:Volunteers can stay for as long as they wish. Previously, we had those who stayed 1 week, 3 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, etc. The longest was 6 months – but to us we don’t really mind.
People Needed:up to 10
Required Skills:Open to as many skill sets as would be willing to help. From teaching to counseling, available hands to work, music, and even play with the kids.
Costs:US $100 per week for all meals plus transport. An additional $100 for pick up and drop off Airport.
Description:New Hope Children's Centre – Uplands is a charitable Children's Home dedicated to lifting orphaned children (mainly girls) out of poverty and ignorance, and giving them hope for a better future. Our concern is to offer them education, show love and kindness to them, and more especially (by God's grace) to help them 'know God and Jesus Christ whom He hath sent'

If the volunteer wishes to go on SAFARI, we can make appropriate arrangements with the tour firms, at the volunteer’s expense.

Additional points to note: We need adequate notice, at least 1 month. Female volunteers will be sharing bedrooms; male volunteers too. But husbands and wives are allowed to share bedrooms.
