Type Of Work:The construction worker will assist in the building of various structures being erected on the orphanage site, such as kitchen, dormitories and other facilities. Tasks will include mixing cement, plastering, shoveling dirt, laying stones and assisting in laying foundations. When there is little construction work taking place, tasks can include removing trees and clearing land, constructing ladders, tables, shelves etc for the orphanage to use. Volunteers will work with local workmen and will have the opportunity to participate in the development of new projects
Required Skills:Experience in construction or a trade would be an advantage but is not essential, a willingness to learn and participate in tasks. Please note that this is a physical position requiring heavy lifting and physical labour.
Costs:PROGRAM FEE
US$90 per week payable prior or upon start of the program.
