Baan Unrak is an organisation for the protection of animals in North West Thailand. We currently care for around 40 dogs at the shelter. A sterilization project is also underway in an effort to reduce the number of unwanted street dogs in the area.
We are seeking volunteers to help in any way they can. All we ask for is a genuine interest in animal welfare and the motivation to complete the tasks at hand. We are also desperately seeking veterinary surgeons and nurses to help with the sterilization project and to provide medical care to sick or injured animals who are brought to us by local people on a daily basis. Please visit our website for more details and if interested, please go to the volunteer page to submit an application.
Sangklaburi, where the shelter is based, is a resort town set in beautiful surroundings full of mountains, lakes and wildlife. While regrettably we cannot provide accommodation, there is a wide choice of guesthouses nearby to suit any budget, the cheapest of which is just 150 baht (around 3 Pounds / 4 Euros / 5 Dollars) a night for a basic double or single room.
